ABOUT ME

FERNANDA SILVA
Founder of Groovement Dance
I am a performer, choreographer, teacher and a Master graduate student of dance therapy at Codarts, Rotterdam.
I was born in Portugal and I'm based in Arnhem, The Netherlands.
Born in 1990, I studied at the National Dance Conservatory in Lisbon and continued my studies at ArtEZ Dance Academy - University of the Arts, Arnhem graduating in 2014.
Throughout my journey I danced for choreographers such as Joeri Dubbe, Jéròme Meyer & Isabelle Chaufaud and Sita Ostheimer. I co-founded Danscollectief Arnhemse Meisjes, created pieces such as "Ha ha ha ha" - Christina de Chatel Award selection, "Suppressed Dialogues vol. 1", "To React Upon", "Set Setting" and the Mindanbody series composed by 4 solos "Out Of My Mind", "Out Of My Body", "In My Body" and "In My Mind", to be continued with a final quartet.
I teach workshops and classes such as at the pre-professional educations of ArtEZ in Arnhem and Enschede, the Creative Contemporary of RijnIjssel in Arnhem and gave a masterclass at Beta Publica Showcase, at Compañía Nacional de Danza - Madrid.
In 2019-2021 I worked with MOMO Theaterwerkplaats and I keep close collaborations with music, visual arts, inclusion and health institutions.
